Delete your Renew Reminder account

How to permanently delete your Renew Reminder account and the data we hold for it.

Last updated: September 1, 2026

1. Delete your account from the app

This is the fastest route, and it takes effect immediately. In the Renew Reminder app:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm when asked. The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

You can do the same thing on the web at app.renewreminder.com under account settings.

2. If you cannot sign in

Email support@renewreminder.com from the email address on the account, with the subject “Account deletion request”. We will verify that the request came from the account holder and then delete the account. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.

We ask you to write from the account’s own email address because it is the only way we can tell your request apart from someone else asking us to delete your data.

3. What is deleted

Deleting your account removes all of the following from our systems:

  • Your profile — name, email address, password or linked Google/Apple sign-in, profile picture, timezone and currency.
  • Everything you tracked — subscriptions, bills, investments, transactions, budgets, categories and payment accounts.
  • Bank connections — your linked banks are disconnected at Plaid and the access tokens are destroyed, so no further data can be fetched.
  • Reminders — alert rules, the email address and phone number you set for alerts, push notification tokens and connected calendars.
  • Your assistant history — Remi conversations, attachments and remembered preferences.
  • Your contacts — the people and groups you added for splitting costs.
  • Billing records — invoices and the customer records held with our payment providers.

4. What is kept, and for how long

  • Backups — none — we do not keep database backups, so there is no additional retention period. Once your account is deleted the data is gone immediately, and neither you nor we can recover it.
  • Records we are required to keep — where law obliges us to retain something, such as a tax or accounting record, or where there is an open complaint or a realistic prospect of legal proceedings, we keep the minimum required for as long as it is required.
  • Anonymous usage statistics — aggregated counts that are not linked to you and cannot be used to identify you are retained.

Cancel your subscription first

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed by the store you bought through, and only that store can stop them. Cancel before you delete, or you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists.

  • Google Play — Play Store → Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  • Apple App Store — Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
  • Bought on the web — email support@renewreminder.com and we will cancel it for you.

5. Delete your data but keep your account

If you want to start over rather than leave, open Settings and choose Reset data. You will be shown exactly what is about to be removed and asked to confirm. This erases your tracked data while keeping your sign-in and your subscription intact.

6. Questions

Write to support@renewreminder.com and a person will answer you.
