How to Cancel Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll subscription fees are non-refundable. Cancelling stops the next charge but does not refund unused time.

For accidental renewals, contact Crunchyroll support at help.crunchyroll.com. If you were billed through Apple or Google Play, request the refund through that platform — Crunchyroll cannot refund third-party charges.

After cancelling, your premium benefits (ad-free viewing, offline downloads, simultaneous streams) remain active until the end of your billing period.

After that, your account reverts to the free tier with limited ad-supported content. Your watchlist, watch history, queue, and account settings are fully preserved.

Offline downloads will stop playing after your premium access expires.

For anime specifically, Netflix and Hulu have growing anime libraries, though neither matches Crunchyroll's simulcast coverage. HIDIVE ($5.99/mo) is a smaller but dedicated anime streaming service with some exclusive titles.

Crunchyroll's free tier is the most cost-effective option if you do not mind ads and can tolerate a slightly delayed release schedule for new episodes.

• Check your billing provider. If the Crunchyroll website does not show a Cancel button under Membership Info, you likely subscribed through Apple, Google Play, Roku, or Amazon. Cancel through that platform instead. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
• Free tier is available. After cancelling, your account reverts to Crunchyroll's free ad-supported tier. You can still watch a limited selection of anime with ads — you do not lose your account, watchlist, or history.
• Consider downgrading. If the Fan plan ($9.99/mo) is too expensive, remember there is no cheaper paid tier — the free ad-supported version is your only alternative within Crunchyroll.
• 7-day free trial. If you are still within your trial, cancelling now prevents any charge. You keep access until the trial ends.
