Statement Import · Watch

Drop in a few statements.
We find what repeats.

Upload three to twelve months of bank or card statements — PDFs, spreadsheets or photos. Renew Reminder reads them together, finds the charges that repeat, skips what you already track, and adds the ones you tick. Free, from any bank in any country.

FreeUp to 60 files a month, on every plan.

  • PDF, CSV, text or photos
  • Any bank, any country

One month proves nothing.
A few months show the pattern.

A subscription is a charge that comes back. On one statement it looks like any other line; across three, the same name at the same price every thirty days is impossible to miss. Statement import does that reading for you, without ever connecting to your bank.

01

Choose your statements. From any bank.

Download a few months of statements from your bank or card — or photograph the paper ones — and choose them all at once. The files are listed before anything is read, so you can swap a wrong one with Choose different files.

  • PDF, CSV, plain text or photos
  • Up to 12 files at a time, 8 MB each
  • Three to twelve months works best
  • Free, with no bank login
FreeWorks everywhere
02

Read together, not one by one.

Every file is read, then the charges are lined up across all of them: four in one statement and four in the next is one monthly subscription, which neither file would show alone. Then each one is checked against what you already track. A year of statements can take a couple of minutes, and the screen can wait in the background.

03

Statements for a new account? File them under it.

When the statements name a card or account you have not added yet, the import asks before going on. Add the account, and every record from this import is filed against it — so each subscription already knows which card it is on. Not now skips it.

  • Only asked when the account is new to you
  • Add the account, or Not now
  • Records are filed against it automatically
04

See what we found, and why.

Every row says what it is and why it is there: the amount, how often it bills, and how many charges it was read from. Tap the ⋯ to see the dated charges themselves; tap the row to rename it, correct the amount, or file it as a bill or an investment instead. Untick anything you do not want.

  • “monthly · 3 charges, about every 30 days”
  • Subscription, Bill or Investment, and you can change it
  • Already tracked rows are left unticked
  • Amount varies — marked with a ~
05

Add them, and the reminders start.

Ready to add says how many records are about to be created, and Add them creates them — each one a normal record with its date, its cycle and its reminders. Anything you already tracked is left alone, so running the same statements again never makes duplicates.

  • “3 records will be added.” — then “3 records added.”
  • Already tracked ones are left alone
  • Every record is editable like one you typed

Good to know

Read, then gone

A statement is read and discarded. Nothing about it is logged — not a merchant, not an amount, not even the filename, which usually has your name in it. What stays is only the records you chose to add.

Sized for a real backlog

Up to 12 statements at a time, 8 MB each, and 60 files a month — enough for a year of statements several times over. A file is only counted once it has actually been read.

It says which file was wrong

Upload something that is not a statement and the import ends with “That file is not a bank statement.”, naming the file, instead of an empty list that looks like nothing renews.

Once is not a pattern

A charge needs to repeat — three times, or twice for a yearly one across long enough statements — before it is ticked. A known service seen just once is listed unticked as “Seen once — is this yearly?” for you to decide.

Three statements are enough to start

Download the last few months from your bank, drop them in, and tick what is right. Every renewal on them is in your list a couple of minutes later, with a reminder before the next one.
