Connect Codex, Cursor and other MCP apps
Any app that supports MCP with OAuth can connect — give it the URL, choose OAuth, and approve once.
Renew Reminder follows the standard Model Context Protocol, so any assistant or editor that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth can connect. The pattern is always the same: give it the URL, choose OAuth (not an API key), and approve on the Renew Reminder page that opens.
Codex
- 1In a terminal, run:
codex mcp add renew-reminder --url https://api.renewreminder.com/mcp - 2The first time Codex uses the server it opens your browser to sign in. Press Allow.
Cursor, Windsurf and similar editors
- 1Open the app's MCP settings and add a new server of type HTTP (sometimes called *remote* or *streamable HTTP*).
- 2Paste
https://api.renewreminder.com/mcpas the URL. Do not fill in a token or API key. - 3Save, then click Connect or Authenticate. Sign in on the page that opens and press Allow.
If an app insists on a header or token instead of OAuth, you can use a Renew Reminder API key as Authorization: Bearer rrk_live_… — but OAuth is simpler and lets you disconnect the app from Settings.
