Choose how early you're reminded
Set your advance notice anywhere from 1 to 30 days, globally or for one subscription.
Advance notice is how many days before a renewal your reminder goes out. The default is 7 days. You can pick anything from 1 to 30.
The offered steps are 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 14, and 30 days before. If a different value was set elsewhere — by a rule, or on the web app — your reminder settings will show that value as the selected one rather than silently snapping it to the nearest step.
Three levels, and which one wins
You can set advance notice in more than one place. When they disagree, the most specific setting wins:

So the number on your main reminder settings screen is what a subscription falls back to, not necessarily what every subscription will do. To change one service without touching the rest, set the advance notice on that subscription itself.
Match the notice to the size of the charge. 3 days is plenty for a $12 streaming plan; a $180 annual renewal deserves 14 or 30 so you have time to compare alternatives or use a refund window.
