Connecting a bank account
Optional. It finds recurring charges you forgot about — and here is exactly what it can and cannot see.
Connecting a bank or card lets Renew Reminder scan your transaction history for recurring charges and suggest subscriptions you have not added yet. It is genuinely good at finding the ones you forgot — which is the whole reason people connect it.
It is optional
Everything in Renew Reminder works without it. If you would rather not connect anything, add subscriptions manually and nothing is missing except the automatic suggestions.
What the connection can do
- Read transaction descriptions, amounts, and dates, to identify recurring charges.
- It cannot move money, make payments, or change anything at your bank.
- It cannot cancel a subscription. No app can — cancellation happens with the provider.
Disconnecting
Remove a linked bank from your account settings at any time. Subscriptions you already added stay; only the automatic detection stops.
Bank connections are currently available for United States institutions only. See Which countries are supported.
